Built for Pilots Who Have a Destination in Mind

Every pilot’s journey is different.

Whether you’re working toward your Commercial Certificate, CFI, or ATP minimums, Time Building Flights helps you compare time-building opportunities, connect with other pilots, track your progress, and discover new ways to gain valuable flight experience.

Some pilots need 50 hours of cross-country time. Others are chasing ATP minimums. Many are trying to balance training quality with affordability.

Time Building Flights was created to help pilots make informed decisions by bringing together flight-hour opportunities, training resources, and career-focused guidance in one place.

More Than Just Hour Building

Most websites focus on selling aircraft rental packages.

We focus on helping pilots build experience.

Build Experience, Not Just Numbers

Flight hours matter.

Experience matters more.

The most successful pilots seek opportunities that develop judgment, decision-making, communication, and operational competence.

A 500-hour pilot with diverse flying experience often learns more than a pilot who spent the same amount of time flying repetitive local routes.

We encourage pilots to pursue experiences that challenge them and expand their skills while maintaining the highest standards of safety.

Safety Always Comes First

Every flight hour should contribute to both proficiency and safety.

Before participating in any time-building activity, pilots should:

  • Verify insurance requirements
  • Review aircraft limitations
  • Conduct thorough preflight planning
  • Maintain currency requirements
  • Follow all applicable regulations
  • Exercise sound aeronautical decision-making

No flight hour is worth compromising safety.

Multi Engine

Most pilots need just 25 hours total time to reach the minimums for an airline position. Additionally, most people obtain 10 hours by completion of the multi engine rating. Therefore we will assume time building will need to buy just 15 hour blocks of muti engine time. These blocks will be sold at $8,000 and can be shared with another individual. Please contact us if you need our assistance in finding a pilot to share time.

All multi engine time building hours must occur between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am for scheduling purposes. This can easily be completed in a 2 or 3 day program.  A checkout is required and you must have Seminole time or require a more extensive checkout at additional cost (Specifically for the CFI’s time).

Our aircraft is a modern 2024 Piper Seminole.

Cheap Multi-Engine Time Building in the United States

Multi-engine flight experience is one of the most valuable categories of flight time for aspiring professional pilots. Airlines, charter operators, and corporate flight departments often evaluate both total flight time and multi-engine experience during the hiring process.

Pilots seeking affordable multi-engine time-building opportunities should compare aircraft availability, instructor requirements, insurance restrictions, fuel costs, and operational flexibility. While hourly rates are important, the overall quality of the experience and the opportunity to build pilot-in-command time can be equally valuable.

Note: Sales tax may apply to all prices listed depending on location. When using a credit card, a 2.5% processing fee will be applied.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is flight time building, and how can it help advance my aviation career?

Time building refers to the process of accumulating flight hours after obtaining your pilot certificate, typically with the goal of meeting minimum experience requirements for advanced certifications or airline eligibility.

For most pilots, time building is an essential step toward qualifying for roles such as commercial pilot positions, airline transport pilot requirements, and other professional aviation opportunities. It provides valuable experience in aircraft operation, navigation, decision-making, and overall flight proficiency.

In addition to helping you reach required hour thresholds, structured time building can also improve consistency, confidence, and operational readiness as you progress in your aviation career.

How do I enroll?

Fill out our contact form. Our team will contact you and assist you in the enrollment process, help you choose the right program, and get you scheduled to start.

Can I build time solo, or do I need a flying partner?

You may elect to fly solo (except in our multi-engine aircraft). However, sharing time increases safety while cutting your costs in half. During shared time-building flights conducted under simulated instrument conditions, both pilots may be able to log PIC (Pilot in Command) time in accordance with applicable FAA regulations.

When one pilot is flying under a view-limiting device (such as foggles), the other pilot serves as the required Safety Pilot, responsible for maintaining visual separation and scanning for traffic. Because the Safety Pilot is a required crewmember for the operation, both pilots can often log valuable flight time while sharing the cost of the flight.

As always, pilots should ensure their logbook entries comply with current FAA regulations and guidance regarding PIC and Safety Pilot time.

Do I need to find my own time-building partner?

If you already have a preferred flying partner, we encourage you to coordinate with us so we can help integrate them into the program when possible. Otherwise, we can match you with another enrolled pilot to ensure you have a suitable partner for shared time building.

This approach helps you maintain a consistent flying schedule without the need to independently coordinate a partner.

Is there a daily limit on flight hours?

The estimated time required to complete 100 flight hours is approximately 15 days, based on a standard schedule of up to 8 flight hours per day with appropriate rest periods. While it may be possible to accumulate 100 hours in as few as 10 days by flying up to 10 hours daily, we recommend the 15-day schedule to promote adequate rest, maintain performance, and support
a safer, more sustainable training experience.

What hours of the day am I able to fly?

Scheduling runs on a 24/7 basis.

What happens if I don't show up for my reservation?

‘No Shows’ for a scheduled flight will be charged for the full block(s) missed at the full single rate or crew rate you were scheduled for.

What requirements apply to pilots with foreign pilot certificates?

Pilots with a foreign pilot certificate must complete several steps before participating in a U.S. time-building program. These include:

  • Submitting an FAA Verification of Authenticity request (online submission is recommended 45–90 days prior to travel).
  • Obtaining an FAA Private Pilot Certificate based on your foreign license, if applicable.
  • Securing appropriate renter’s insurance coverage.
  • Completing a current Flight Review (formerly known as a Biennial Flight Review or BFR) if required under FAA regulations.

Our team can help guide you through these requirements to ensure you are fully prepared
before arriving for your time-building program.

How does weather impact my time-building schedule, and what happens if I don't complete my hours as scheduled?

Safety is always the top priority. As the Pilot in Command (PIC), you have the final authority to determine whether weather conditions are suitable for flight. If conditions are unsafe or do not meet your personal minimums, you may choose to postpone or reschedule your flight.

Our Colorado location benefits from favorable flying weather throughout most of the year, helping minimize weather-related disruptions and maximize flying opportunities.

If you are unable to complete your planned hours within your scheduled timeframe, there’s no need to worry—your purchased flight hours will remain available for 6 months following your planned schedule. For instance, if you purchase a 100-hour plan, to be flown over the next 3 weeks, your unused hours will remain available to you for 6 months following the conclusion of your scheduled flights. We offer flexible scheduling, allowing you to complete your remaining hours at a pace that fits your availability and training goals.

Are there weather-related cancellation fees?

No. There are no cancellation fees if you, as the Pilot in Command (PIC), decide to cancel a flight due to weather conditions that you determine are unsafe.

Safety decisions are always at your discretion, and we fully support rescheduling flights when conditions are not suitable for safe operations.

Should I build time in multiple aircraft types or focus on one model?

Our fleet includes multiple aircraft models. For most pilots, we recommend building the majority of their hours in a single aircraft model. Maintaining consistency in one aircraft type helps improve familiarity, proficiency, and operational confidence while also simplifying compliance with insurance and rental requirements.

If you are interested in gaining experience in another aircraft type, please contact us to discuss availability and rental options. We will be happy to help customize a program that aligns with your training and career goals.

Can I bring passengers on time-building flights?

No. Time-building flights are intended exclusively for the participating pilots and are typically conducted with a Pilot in Command (PIC) and, when applicable, a Safety Pilot.

Due to insurance, leasing, and operational requirements, recreational passengers are not permitted on time-building flights. This policy helps ensure that all flight time is dedicated to professional hour accumulation, training objectives, and compliance with applicable regulations and program guidelines.

If you have specific circumstances or questions regarding additional occupants, please contact us to discuss what are the typical costs of your time-building packages, and what is included?

Are there restrictions on which airports I can fly to?

You are generally free to fly to most airports that you and your flying partner consider safe and are comfortable operating from, provided all flights remain within U.S. airspace and comply with applicable regulations.

However, certain operations—such as flights to turf, grass, or unpaved runways—are not permitted without prior written approval and completion of any required aircraft or airport checkout procedures.

Understand, many airports have landing fees. These fees are your responsibility and will be charged to you.

Can I participate if I live out of state?

Yes, this is possible. However, we recommend coordinating your schedule with our team in advance to ensure aircraft availability during your planned arrival and departure dates and to help avoid conflicts with other pilots’ schedules.

Please note that this arrangement typically works best for pilots flying solo, as coordinating consistent time-building sessions with a shared partner can be more challenging when traveling intermittently.

How much do your time-building packages cost, and what's included?

Our shared time-building rates start at $80 per flight hour for a 100-hour package and can be as low as $65 per flight hour for a 1,000-hour package, offering significant savings for larger hour commitments.

All pricing is based on a wet rate, which means fuel and oil are included in the hourly cost—there are no additional charges for these operating expenses.

Each aircraft is also equipped with the essential items needed for safe and efficient time building, including:

  • aircraft checklist
  • Fuel card
  • Extra oil
  • Foggles (view-limiting device)
  • Fuel sampler/drainer
  • Fuel dipstick

Our goal is to provide a cost-effective, turnkey time-building experience so you can focus on accumulating hours and advancing your aviation career.

What happens if an aircraft becomes unavailable due to maintenance?

Aircraft downtime is uncommon thanks to our rigorous maintenance standards and FAA-compliant inspection program. However, if a mechanical issue does occur, our team will work quickly to minimize any disruption to your training schedule.

Whenever possible, we will arrange for you to continue your program in another available aircraft within our fleet. We will also work with you to reschedule any lost flight time and help ensure you can complete your time-building goals as efficiently as possible.

Our priority is to keep your program moving forward safely, smoothly, and with minimal interruption.

Are flight hours tracked using Hobbs time or Tach time?

All flight time is tracked and billed using the Hobbs meter, which is the standard method used by most flight schools and aircraft rental operators.

The Hobbs meter records the time the aircraft is operating and provides a consistent, transparent basis for both flight logging and billing. Your accumulated time-building hours are therefore based on Hobbs time, ensuring accurate recordkeeping throughout your program. If a Hobbs meter is not working, Hobbs will be calculated at 1.25 time tach hours.

If you have questions about the difference between Hobbs time and Tach time, our team will be
happy to explain how each is used and how flight time is recorded.

Is time building possible in different states or countries?

Our time-building programs are available anywhere within the contiguous United States, subject to aircraft availability and operational considerations. International flights are prohibited in this time-building program.

There are minimal airport and route restrictions, giving pilots the flexibility to plan flights across different states, provided all operations are conducted safely and in accordance with applicable regulations. Pilots are also expected to ensure they are comfortable with the airspace and weather conditions in their selected operating areas.

Do you offer financing options for time building?

We work with Stratus Financial and can get you the proper contact to begin the financing process. However, if you need assistance exploring external loan options, we recommend contacting our team to discuss specific solutions.

What is your refund policy?

In general, prepaid flight hours are non-refundable once the program has started or the hour block has been purchased.

For full details, including any applicable exceptions or special circumstances, please contact our sales team prior to purchase. Our team will be happy to review the policy with you and answer any questions.
